Second Jackpot Win of July Celebrated

A successful July for EuroMillions players continued on Friday night, as one ticket holder matched all the numbers to win £24 million. The numbers drawn were 4, 9, 23, 35 and 37, with Lucky Stars 4 and 8. More than 1.7 million prizes were paid out, ranging from small amounts to tens or hundreds of thousands, and then the jackpot. The sole winner emerged, and the National Lottery operator confirmed before the end of the weekend that a claim had already been submitted for the prize. Andy Carter, the National Lottery’s Senior Winners’ Advisor, said: 'This is absolutely incredible news and we’re delighted that we’ve received a claim. This is the second huge EuroMillions jackpot win this month. Our focus is now on supporting this latest lucky ticket-holder through the winning process and helping them start to enjoy their truly life-changing win.' The prize claim will next be validated, before it is paid out by the National Lottery. The lucky winner must also decide whether to stay anonymous or go public with their win. If they wish to keep their identity hidden, no more information will be released about the ticket holder or even where the winning entry was purchased. The last jackpot won came just a few weeks ago on 5th July, when someone pocketed £33 million. Just like the latest winner, they also came forward to stake a claim within 48 hours of matching all the numbers. No further details have since been disclosed. Two countries remain neck and neck at the top of the table of most successful EuroMillions countries, having both had 129 jackpot winners.
