Player Wins €149 Million EuroMillions Jackpot

Friday’s EuroMillions draw saw a single ticket holder land a EuroMillions jackpot worth €149 million, making it one of the biggest wins of the year so far.

The jackpot had previously rolled over for 11 consecutive draws, putting it back into nine figures for the first time since a player won €213 million on 25th June.

The winning numbers for 6th September were 12, 14, 34, 41 and 47, with Lucky Stars 3 and 4. On a rewarding night for participants across Europe, more than 2.5 million prizes were paid out.

One country emerged with the most to celebrate. As well as the jackpot winner, two of the four players who matched five main numbers plus one Lucky Star - pocketing €257,427 (£183,257) each - came from there. The others were from the UK and France.

It is the third-largest jackpot to have ever been won in that country, following a €168 million success in October 2016 and a €153 million payout in June 2017. Both those winners stayed anonymous, although some details were revealed about their stories, and the latest lucky ticket holder now has 20 weeks to come forward and claim their prize.

That country has now had 44 jackpot winners since EuroMillions began in 2004, placing it in fifth place out of nine in terms of the most successful countries.

Superdraw Soon

The jackpot could have kept growing until it reached its maximum of €250 million, but it will now reset to its base amount of €17 million.

It won’t be long before it is bumped back up, though, with a €130 million Superdraw scheduled for Friday 27th September.
