EuroMillions Players Face Temporary Service Outage

EuroMillions players are preparing for a two-day disruption as the National Lottery undergoes a significant system upgrade. The upgrade, which marks the biggest technological development since 2009, will take place from 11pm on the 2nd of August to late Monday on the 4th of August. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the player experience since Allwyn began overseeing the National Lottery in 2024. According to Jenny Blogg, Director of Operations at Allwyn, the upgrade will include a new look for retail partners, new lottery terminals, and enhanced network services. Approximately 8,000 stores will receive new terminals, while others will get software updates on current machines, with plans for further rollouts later in the year. During this period, players will not be able to purchase or claim draw tickets in stores. However, scratch cards will remain available. Jenny Blogg acknowledged the short-term disruption but emphasized the long-term benefits, including improved player experience and increased returns for Good Causes. While the National Lottery website will also be down during this period, players can still participate in draw games like EuroMillions online. The disruptions will not affect players elsewhere. Once services resume on Monday, players will have ample opportunity to participate in the next EuroMillions draw on the 5th of August. It's important to remember that although the National Lottery website and app will be offline, results for previous EuroMillions draws can still be checked.
