€178M EuroMillions Jackpot Won by Ticket Holder
A player became the latest big winner in Friday night’s EuroMillions draw, landing a jackpot worth €178.6 million (£156.6 million). The jackpot had powered past €170 million after 13 straight rollovers, setting up one of the most eagerly-awaited draws of the year. The winning numbers were revealed to be 5, 29, 33, 39 and 42, with Lucky Stars 3 and 9. Over 35.7 million entries were purchased for the draw, and more than 2.7 million of those tickets won a prize. There were significant payouts in all participating locations, but only one ticket matched the full line. It is the fourth-largest jackpot won in this region, and the lucky player now has 60 days to claim their prize. No further details were disclosed about where the jackpot-winning ticket was sold. If Friday’s jackpot had rolled over, it could have potentially reached its €250 million limit for the fourth time in 2025. Instead, it will reset to €14 million for Tuesday night. Regardless of whether Tuesday’s jackpot gets won, it will be increased to €130 million (approximately £110 million) for a Superdraw on Friday. Superdraws are special events occurring a few times a year, offering a guaranteed nine-figure jackpot without needing multiple rollovers. The funds come from the EuroMillions Reserve Fund, which receives a portion of the prize money from every draw.
