Eurojackpot Celebrates 13th Year with Maximum Jackpot of 120 Million Euros
The Eurojackpot lottery began in March 2012. Initially, a few countries participated, but the game's popularity quickly grew, and now it includes 18 participant countries. Over the years, numerous million-euro prizes have been won, with around 70 of these winnings awarded to players in one specific country.A spokesperson has noted that Eurojackpot allows players to win millions even without hitting the jackpot. On Friday, the second-tier prize pool is expected to be around 20 million euros.
Accumulated million-euro winnings in one country alone have surpassed one billion euros, with the cumulative total being over 1,054 million euros. This milestone was exceeded in July when a man won a significant jackpot of 58.3 million euros.
The largest prize ever won by a player in one country was a massive 91.9 million euros, shared by a group of ticket holders in 2019.
The first jackpot win in this country occurred in 2013 when a player won 29.5 million euros online.
Certain areas of the country have proven to be particularly lucky for Eurojackpot million-euro wins.
When evaluating the total Eurojackpot winnings in relation to population size, Loimaa is deemed the luckiest area. Following it are the regions of Siilinjärvi and Teuva.
With the upcoming draw's potential 120 million euro jackpot and a secondary pot of roughly 20 million euros, these rankings could change.
If the main prize were to land in Siilinjärvi, it could become one of the luckiest places, possibly setting records across Europe.
