Eurojackpot Reaches Maximum Pot, but No Winner Yet
The Eurojackpot lottery has reached its maximum pot of 120 million euros since the draw in round 46/2024. With no winner yet, the upcoming draw in round 48/2024 marks the fifth consecutive opportunity for players to seize this substantial prize. Even a 5+1 result could lead to significant winnings, with the second-tier pot estimated at around 25 million euros on Friday.Eurojackpot underwent changes in March 2022, allowing the pot to rise to 120 million euros under the new rules. Previously, the 90 million euro record pot was won 15 times.
A notable win occurred in 2019 when a group of 50 players from a local supermarket shared a 91.9 million euro prize. This victory garnered international attention, making the town temporarily famous. The win positively impacted the local economy, affecting banks, real estate, and auto sales, while providing many families with newfound financial security.
The 2018 draw saw another 90 million euro jackpot awarded to a group of five players, though their identities remained undisclosed initially, sparking media interest. Eventually, the winners came forward to claim the prize.
Winning a portion of the maximum pot also occurred in 2022 and 2021, with significant prizes won by individual players and groups from different areas.
Eurojackpot is a multinational lottery that started in March 2012. It has expanded to include participation from 19 countries, with the latest addition joining in March this year.
The largest Eurojackpot prizes, including the maximum pot from round 12/2022 onwards, have been won predominantly in various countries.
